Congratulations to Rhett Blundell, our most recent Educator of the Game! 🎉

Rhett Blundell is a Social Studies teacher and coach at Clinton Middle School and the new head wrestling coach at Clinton High School. Now in his 10th year of teaching and coaching in Clinton, he teaches 7th Grade Eastern Hemisphere Geography, 8th Grade American History, and co-ed weightlifting, while also coaching football, wrestling, and baseball. A graduate of Kingfisher High School and Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Coach Blundell is passionate about helping students grow both in and out of the classroom. Outside of school, he enjoys strength and endurance training, reading, listening to the Keep Hammering Podcast, and spending time with his wife, Natalie, and their son, Lincoln. His advice to students is simple: focus on becoming the best version of yourself, and always treat others the way you want to be treated. 💛

From his students and athletes: Coach Blundell is truly a great leader, coach, and person. He has already been recognized as Teacher of the Year, but he continues to show us what a teacher and coach should be every single day. Many of us are grateful we had him in 7th and 8th grade, and we’re even more thankful to still have him as a coach in wrestling. He pushes us to do things we never thought we were capable of, and because of his support, we’ve achieved goals like winning medals and gaining confidence. He is extremely encouraging, never gives up on anyone, and always believes in us. Even with his busy schedule, he stepped up to lead high school wrestling because he cares so much about his athletes. We are thankful for everything he does and the impact he has made on all of us.

Music students from Southwest and Washington Elementary attended Circle the State with Song last Friday, an incredible opportunity for our talented musicians to collaborate and perform alongside peers from our region. Tonight is the first Parent Meeting option for prospective high school students interested in attending Western Technology Center for the 2026-2027 school year.

This meeting is for incoming high school students who have already completed the first step of applying for a training program. The Parent Meeting is the next step, where a parent or guardian will meet with the instructor, learn more about the program, and review WTC expectations.

Parent Meeting Nights will be held at both the Burns Flat and Sayre campuses:
Tonight, Thursday, January 29
Monday, February 2

Families should meet in the training program area, except for WTC-Burns Flat Cosmetology, which will meet in the Seminar Center at 5:30pm.

Winter weather across the region has led to an emergency blood shortage, and our community can help make a difference right away.

You can give hope today, Wednesday, January 28, by donating blood at Clinton High School until 2:30pm. Every donation helps patients in need during this critical time.

Please join us in recognizing our most recent Educator of the Game, Mr. Jeston Laney. He was recommended by students who say he has already made a strong impact in his first year at Clinton High School by creating a classroom that feels safe, fun, and welcoming. 💛

Mr. Laney is a 2025 graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University and the newest member of the CHS history team. He has a deep love for history and enjoys helping students connect with the past in meaningful ways. Students describe him as patient and genuinely caring, with a teaching style that makes history and geography engaging while ensuring every student feels heard and supported.

Many students were especially touched by a recent email he sent, thanking them for a great year and telling them how proud he is of them. That simple gesture meant a great deal and speaks to the heart he brings to his classroom each day.

Thank you, Mr. Laney, for the passion, kindness, and dedication you bring to Clinton students. 👏🌪️
