This morning, the Class of 2026 gathered under a sky painted in soft pastels for Senior Sunrise — the first of many milestones in their final year at CHS. 🌅

Wrapped in blankets and surrounded by friends, they shared donuts, memories, and quiet anticipation for what lies ahead. There was laughter, lots of pics, and a shared understanding that this year will be full of “lasts,” but also full of incredible firsts.

To our seniors: soak in every moment, take the pictures, cheer each other on, and lead with kindness. This is your year. 💛

Every year, like clockwork, Mr. Ray rounds up the WES and CMS crews for the legendary pre-school-year pilgrimage to Eischen’s. Last night did not disappoint — great food, even better company, and one slightly dramatic moment when the bus A/C wasn't working quite right. 🥵

Enter Teacher of the Year Rhett Blundell, who literally saved the day and fixed it like a champ. 👏🎉

Huge thanks to Sarah Kerr for being their fearless driver — they made it there and back safely, full of fried chicken and okra, and ready to take on the new school year!🌪️🍎🚌

Starting this school year, students must keep phones turned off and stored in backpacks from bell to bell. This includes smart watches, earbuds, and other personal electronic devices.

✅ Exceptions for medical/emergency use
📲 School-issued devices = OK for learning
🚫 No distractions. No disruptions.

🎉 GREAT NEWS: REDS 365 is Back for 2025–2026! 🎉

After weeks of uncertainty, the federal funds for our REDS 365 after-school program have officially been released, and we are thrilled to move forward with offering this vital service to our students and families this school year!

REDS 365 provides a safe, structured, and supportive environment for students after school with academic help, enrichment activities, meals, and more. We’re grateful to be able to continue this work through June 2026 thanks to the restored 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Grant funding.

📝 Sign-up forms will go home in Monday folders on August 11 and will need to be returned by the following Monday, August 18. REDS 365 will start on Monday, August 25 for students in Pre-K through 5th grade.

Assistant Superintendent Melissa Knabe expressed, “We are excited to be able to offer REDS 365 for this school year. This program is important for our students, families, and community, and Director Eunice Wilson and the REDS 365 staff are ready to welcome students into the program for this year. We look forward to seeing everyone after school on August 25!”

We’re ready to hit the ground running—and we can’t wait to welcome students back to REDS 365 soon!
