January is School Board Appreciation Month, and we are grateful for the leadership, service, and steady commitment of the Clinton Public Schools Board of Education. Red Tornado basketball is back on the court tonight as we take on Woodward at the Tornado Dome. It is shaping up to be a great night of competition and school pride.

We will also take time to celebrate the people who make Clinton Public Schools special. Join us as we recognize another Educator of the Game, honor our Booster of the Week, and proudly introduce the CPS Board of Education.

And a special shoutout to our future Lady Reds who brought big energy to the game on Tuesday! Seeing them in the stands and on the court made the night even better. 💛

A new Little Free Library is officially open at Nance Elementary, and Clinton is now part of a global movement celebrating reading and community. 📚

With more than 200,000 Little Free Libraries in over 181 countries, this small book exchange brings big opportunities for students to discover new stories and share favorites with others. Mike and Myrna Perkins, who host a Little Free Library near their home, shared a grant opportunity that helped make this project possible. The grant provided the library with boxes of books to get it started, and students have already chosen their first books.

Students are welcome to take a book, return a book, and keep the love of reading growing right here at Nance. 📖

The CHS Choir spent Monday night rehearsing with Dr. Sophia Lee, Director of Music Therapy at SWOSU, who will serve as their accompanist for the OkMEA performance next week. 🎶🎹

The rehearsal focused on refining musical details, balance, and expression as students continue preparing for the upcoming performance. Working closely with their accompanist at this point in the process is helping the choir build confidence and bring the music together.

Western Technology Center will host mandatory parent or guardian meetings for students interested in starting training in August.

Meetings will be held on Monday, January 26, or Tuesday, January 27, at WTC Burns Flat and WTC Sayre. Families may choose to attend at 5:30pm or 6:30pm, and meetings will take place in the program areas.

Please note that WTC–Burns Flat Cosmetology will meet at 5:30pm only and will be held in the Seminar Center.

These meetings are required for students planning to attend WTC next school year.

Clinton Public Schools extends its deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Susanna Williams. Susanna was a lifelong educator and served on the CPS district's Board of Education for eight years. She was also a faithful volunteer at Eastside Academy. Susanna was proud to serve our district and proud to be a Red Tornado. Her dedication and heart for students will be remembered by many.

Funeral services for Susanna will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Church.

Please help us recognize our most recent Educator of the Game, Mrs. Summer Morgan. She was recommended by students who say she holds them accountable while caring for them through even the toughest moments.

Mrs. Morgan has dedicated 20 years to teaching and consistently goes above and beyond for her students, personally creating marching choreography and writing individual parts to ensure every musician is both challenged and supported. She earned her National Board Certification in 2024 and was named the 2019 CHS Teacher of the Year.

Thank you, Mrs. Morgan, for the heart, time, and passion you pour into Clinton students. 👏🎶
