Clinton Selects Nathan Meget as Next Superintendent
Assistant Superintendent to Step Into Leadership Role This Summer
The Clinton Board of Education voted Friday afternoon during a special meeting to name Nathan Meget as the district’s next superintendent. He will officially step into the role this July.
“The board conducted a thorough and successful search process. I'm grateful for their time and dedication over the past few weeks,” said Clinton Board of Education President Kim Meacham. “We were fortunate to meet a group of highly qualified and skilled candidates through their applications and two rounds of interviews.
I'm thrilled to announce the board has chosen to entrust the future of Clinton Public Schools to Nathan Meget. Nathan is a homegrown leader who exemplifies servant leadership in both his professional and personal life. He and his family are deeply rooted in our community, and we’re excited to welcome him into this new role as he leads our district forward.”
“I am incredibly grateful and humbled to accept the superintendent position at Clinton Public Schools,” Meget said. “Clinton welcomed our family with open arms when we moved here in 2013. Shea and I are proud to continue serving and raising our children in a place that feels like home.”
He added, “Clinton Public Schools is a district that creates hope, inspires achievement, and fosters pride among students, families, faculty, staff, and the broader community. Over the past 12 years, I’ve had the privilege of learning from and working alongside exceptional educators and leaders who put students first in every decision.
Our district’s innovative approach to education has made CPS a consistent leader across Oklahoma. We’re fortunate to live in a community that values public education and invests in its success. The Clinton Public School Foundation has been a strong partner in providing resources and support for our staff and students. In addition, our partnerships with Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Western Technology Center continue to open doors for students to graduate college and career ready. I’m excited about the future and grateful for the opportunities ahead.”
Meget joined Clinton Public Schools in 2013 as Assistant Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Clinton Middle School. In 2015, he became Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at CHS. He took on the role of principal at Southwest Elementary in 2016 and transitioned to lead Clinton Middle School in 2021. Since 2023, he has served as the district’s Assistant Superintendent.
According to Meacham, the board is especially appreciative of the feedback received from staff, students, and community members, as well as the commitment of her fellow board members throughout the selection process.
“Thank you to everyone who responded to the community survey,” Meacham said. “Your input helped shape the board’s understanding of the kind of leadership our district needs. I also want to thank OSSBA for their support throughout this process and for helping ensure everything ran smoothly.”
The Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA) facilitated the superintendent search. As a nonprofit organization, OSSBA supports school boards across Oklahoma and has helped lead superintendent searches for districts of all sizes, including Oklahoma City, Vinita, and Kellyville.
