Melissa Knabe Named Assistant Superintendent of Clinton Public Schools
Federal Programs Director to Step Into Leadership Role Immediately
Clinton Public Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Melissa Knabe as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent, effective immediately.
With more than two decades in education and over eight years in district-level leadership at CPS, Knabe brings a strong record of innovation, integrity, and service to the role. Her commitment to academic excellence and equity has helped shape the district’s trajectory through key initiatives in curriculum, federal programs, and virtual learning.
Knabe most recently served as Director of Federal & Innovative Programs, where she secured and led more than $3.6 million in grant funding to benefit CPS students and staff. She also played a central role in curriculum development, instructional coaching, new teacher support, district testing coordination, and virtual education programming.
Her leadership resume is matched by her academic credentials. She holds two master’s degrees in education—one in administration and one in curriculum and instruction—as well as principal and superintendent certifications. She is currently participating in the Oklahoma State School Boards Association Emerging Leaders Academy.
“I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited to take on new challenges as Assistant Superintendent for Clinton Public Schools,” Knabe expressed. “I am fortunate to work alongside such a dedicated and professional faculty and staff who show up for our students every day. I am immensely proud of the work our district does for our kids and our community. It’s always a great day to be a Red Tornado!”
Superintendent Nathan Meget expressed confidence in Knabe’s appointment, noting her proven ability to lead with purpose and inspire progress.
“Since 2012, Mrs. Knabe has been a consistent model of innovation, excellence, and knowledge as a teacher and leader at CPS, Meget said. Her expertise with federal funds and grant writing will bring a steady presence to our leadership transition and the vision of our district moving forward.”
Knabe’s work has left a meaningful impact across Clinton schools, from securing federal funds to championing data-driven instruction. Her dedication has helped fuel student success and strengthened teacher support systems districtwide.
As Assistant Superintendent, she will continue collaborating closely with district leaders, teachers, and community stakeholders to advance the mission of Clinton Public Schools—building champions in the classroom, on the field, and beyond.
